This contract opportunity offers a full-time schedule of 35 hours per week, working across K-12 grade levels near Adrian, MI. As a crucial member of the educational team, you will help create a supportive and inclusive environment for students, families, and staff.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Masters degree in Social Work from an accredited program
- Active School Social Worker certification (state-specific licensure)
- Experience providing individual and group counseling to children and adolescents
- Knowledge of K-12 educational systems and special education processes
- Strong collaboration skills for working with teachers, administrators, and families
- Effective communication, crisis intervention, and case management abilities
Core Responsibilities:
- Conduct social and emotional assessments for students referred by educators and families
- Develop and implement intervention plans tailored to students unique needs
- Provide direct counseling servicesboth individual and groupto support students facing social, behavioral, or emotional challenges
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute expertise for students with special needs
- Serve as an advocate for students and connect families to relevant community resources
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with school policies and state regulations
- Collaborate regularly with other school professionals to foster a positive school climate
