A K-12 school in Simi Valley, CA, is seeking a qualified Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to serve early childhood through pre-kindergarten students. This contract position provides an opportunity to apply your California SLPA certification in a supportive educational environment, focusing on helping young learners develop essential communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Provide speech and language therapy services to early childhood and pre-kindergarten students
- Support the speech-language pathologist in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Monitor and document student progress and maintain accurate caseload records
- Collaborate with educators and families to enhance student outcomes
- Participate in team meetings and comply with school policies and procedures
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid California SLPA certification required
- Experience working with early childhood populations preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Familiarity with speech and language developmental milestones for young children
