Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Completion of a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant program or equivalent.
- Active SLPA license or eligibility for licensure in Virginia.
- Previous experience in a school-based setting is highly valued.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations.
- Collaborates well as part of an educational team and independently.
- Organized, self-motivated, and compassionate approach with students.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech and language therapy under the supervision of a certified Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Support individualized education plan implementation for students with communication needs.
- Document therapy sessions and progress notes accurately and in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to promote student success.
- Assist with preparation of therapy materials and activities tailored to student goals.
- Participate in IEP meetings and team discussions as needed.
