Job Description

A K-12 Speech Language Pathologist position is available in Newark, NY, supporting students with mild to severe disabilities. This contract role runs from September 9, 2025, through June 26, 2026, with a weekly schedule of 33.75 hours during the 2025-2026 school year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide assessment and therapy services to students across K-12 grade levels with a range of communicative needs, including severe speech and language impairments.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students specific speech and language goals.
  • Utilize AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) devices and strategies for students with severe communicative challenges.
  • Collaborate with educators, families, and healthcare professionals to support student progress and communicate effectively regarding therapy goals and outcomes.
  • Maintain detailed documentation and comply with school policies and state regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Valid New York State Speech Language Pathologist license.
  • Active TSSLD (Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities) certification.
  • Experience working with pediatric populations within schools and healthcare settings.
  • Proficiency in teletherapy services is a plus.
  • Strong skill set in managing caseloads that include mild to severe disabilities.
  • Familiarity with AAC device usage for students with severe communication issues.
