Job Description

A middle school in Stamford, CT, is seeking a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide targeted therapy services for an 8th-grade student. This contract position focuses on meeting the students Individualized Education Program (IEP) requirements, requiring a compassionate professional with expertise in pediatric and school-based speech therapy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver 42 minutes of direct speech therapy services per week, with initial compensatory hours to address unmet needs from earlier in the academic year
  • Utilize your knowledge of IEP procedures to support the students communication goals effectively
  • Participate in indirect hours for documentation, planning, and paid team meetings as required
  • Collaborate with educational staff while providing services at one assigned school site
  • Adhere to district policies and maintain compliance with Connecticut licensing requirements

Qualifications:

  • Current CT SLP License with Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred
  • Experience working with pediatric populations and within school settings
  • Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidates are encouraged to apply
  • Familiarity with IEP systems and willingness to engage in provided training
  • Ability to work itinerantly, including paid travel to the school site
  • Strong communication skills and professionalism in virtual interview settings

Schedule & Location:

  • Contract role covering the current school year (ASAP through End of Year)
  • Approximately 2 hours per week of direct service time at a Stamford middle school
