A full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) opportunity is available in San Marcos, CA, supporting three schools within a K-12 educational setting. This contract position covers a leave of absence and focuses primarily on middle school students, providing onsite therapy services. The role requires expertise in pediatric speech and language disorders and the ability to deliver effective interventions in a school-based environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations for students
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with speech and language needs
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to support student progress
- Provide direct therapy services to middle school students onsite, utilizing evidence-based practices
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with school policies and state regulations
Qualifications:
- Valid California Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) licensure is required
- Experience working with school-aged children, preferably in middle school settings
- Knowledge of school-based therapy protocols and special education processes
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, families, and school staff
- Ability to manage a caseload efficiently and maintain detailed records
