Job Description

Step into a rewarding school-based opportunity supporting students as a contract Speech-Language Pathologist for the 2026-2027 academic year. Were seeking two on-site SLPs to provide direct services to elementary and middle school students, helping them reach their communication and academic goals in the Portage, IN area.

This assignment runs from August 12, 2026, to May 26, 2027, with a weekly commitment of 37.5 hours. Each SLP will serve a caseload of approximately 45-55 students. The first position spans both an elementary and a middle school building, while the second is dedicated to two middle school buildings.

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Valid SLP license for schools (CCC required)
  • Prior experience with school-aged populations
  • Familiarity with IEP development and implementation
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills
  • Commitment to on-site service delivery throughout the contract

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate, develop, and implement individualized therapeutic interventions
  • Provide direct group and one-on-one speech-language services
  • Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and families for student support
  • Maintain thorough records and document progress per district and compliance requirements
  • Attend multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to IEP plans
