Step into a fulfilling contract opportunity as a Speech-Language Pathologist supporting students in a Pre K through 12th grade environment near Pelham, AL. This full-time position runs from August 2026 through May 2027, offering a chance to make a significant impact on young learners communication abilities. With a manageable caseload of approximately 40 students, youll be able to provide meaningful attention and support to each individual.
Desired Qualifications:
- Active ALSDE Speech Language Pathologist certificate required
- Background check clearance through ALSDE mandatory
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
- Strong communication, documentation, and organization skills
- Experience working in school settings with a diverse age group preferred
- Dedication to collaborative, student-centered practices
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and communication disorders among Pre K-12th grade students
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in consultation with educators and families
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with school and district policies
- Deliver both individual and group therapy sessions tailored to meet each students unique needs
- Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary collaborations, and school-wide initiatives
- Educate and support teachers and parents on communication strategies to reinforce progress
