Job Description

A full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position is available for the upcoming school year at a K-12 educational facility in Owosso, MI. This contract role runs from August through May, with a commitment of 35 hours per week serving one school building. The position focuses primarily on a high school caseload of approximately 45 students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide speech and language evaluations, therapy, and intervention services to students across K-12 grades.
  • Manage and maintain caseload documentation and comply with Individualized Education Program (IEP) requirements.
  • Collaborate with educators, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
  • Participate in paid team meetings and complete any assigned indirect administrative duties.
  • Use district-provided systems for IEP documentation; training will be provided.
  • Maintain professional credentials and comply with all district requirements, including appropriate background checks.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Speech-Language Pathology license and certification.
  • Experience working with school-aged children, preferably in a high school setting.
  • Ability to effectively manage a caseload of up to 45 students.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Flexibility to participate in virtual interviews and timely availability for assignment decisions.

  • The district provides dedicated therapy spaces and support for contractors.
  • This position does not require contractor supervision.
