A school-based Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) role is available to support a high school caseload on a leave contract. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work with diverse students in an educational setting, providing essential support in speech and language development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist Speech Language Pathologists in delivering direct therapy services to high school students with speech and language impairments
- Support individualized education program (IEP) goals and related documentation under the supervision of a certified SLP
- Engage students through teletherapy and in-person sessions, employing evidence-based practices tailored to pediatric populations
- Collaborate with educators and healthcare professionals to promote student communication skills and academic success
- Conduct screenings, maintain accurate records, and contribute to progress monitoring
Desired Qualifications/Skills:
- Certification or credential as a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) with experience in school and healthcare settings
- Experience supporting pediatric and high school-aged students within school environments
- Familiarity with teletherapy platforms and techniques
- Ability to follow directives within a collaborative team framework, supporting both Speech Language Pathologists and students
- Strong communication and organizational skills
