Job Description

Located in the New Orleans, LA area, this full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position serves K-12 students in public elementary schools, with a focus on West Bank schools. This contract role offers an opportunity to provide essential speech and language services within Jefferson Parish school district from ASAP through May 22, 2026.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive speech-language pathology services to students in elementary settings.
  • Assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and communication disorders to support academic success.
  • Develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and collaborate with educators and families.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and participate in meetings related to student progress and services.

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders.
  • Active state licensure in Speech-Language Pathology or eligibility for licensure.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred.
  • Experience working with K-12 populations, especially in elementary schools, is highly valued.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

Work Details:

  • Contract duration: Immediate start through May 22, 2026.
  • 35 hours per week, typically 7 hours per day with a 30-minute unpaid lunch.
  • Caseload and assigned schools to be determined based on district needs.
  • On-site work primarily in elementary schools on the West Bank.
