Job Description

A contract position is available for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to cover a leave of absence at an elementary school in Naperville, IL. This role involves providing comprehensive speech and language therapy services to a caseload of students from kindergarten through sixth grade, supporting their communication development and academic success.

The assignment is scheduled to begin in January, with the possibility of shadow days in December to ensure a smooth transition. The anticipated end date is March 2. This temporary opportunity is ideal for an SLP with experience in pediatric and school-based settings who holds the appropriate Illinois licenses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized speech and language therapy to students in grades K-6
  • Conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and monitor student progress
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student needs
  • Maintain accurate documentation and comply with state and school policies
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to program planning

Qualifications:

  • Valid Illinois Speech-Language Pathologist license and Professional Educator License (PEL)
  • Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred
  • Experience working with pediatric populations in educational settings
  • Strong knowledge of school-based speech-language therapy practices
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
