Job Description
Provide essential speech and language services to students in a vibrant educational setting situated in the North Houston area. This full-time, on-site position supports PreK-12 students, helping them unlock their communication potential for academic and personal success. Positions are available in North, Northeast, and South regions of the district, with most roles based at a single school site and limited itinerant opportunities.
Key Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
- Current state licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure prior to start
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred; Clinical Fellows (CFs) are encouraged to apply
- Demonstrated understanding of school-based SLP services and best practices
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
Role Responsibilities:
- Conduct screenings, assessments, and evaluations for students referred for speech and language concerns
- Develop and deliver individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with educational teams
- Provide direct, evidence-based interventions and therapy in individual or group settings, as appropriate to student needs
- Maintain clear and accurate documentation, including progress reports and compliance paperwork
- Consult with teachers, families, and other professionals to support integrated service delivery in the academic environment
- Participate in relevant team meetings, professional development, and school activities
