Job Description

A K-12 school in Independence, MO, is seeking a full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to support 5th and 6th grade students in a life skills program. This contract position covers a staff member on leave with an uncertain return date, providing a valuable opportunity to make an immediate impact on student communication development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct speech-language therapy to students in the life skills program
  • Collaborate with a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) who supports service delivery
  • Maintain clear documentation and participate in paid team meetings
  • Travel between schools as needed, with travel time compensated
  • Adhere to district policies and administrative requirements

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Missouri SLP license required
  • Experience working in pediatric settings, especially schools or healthcare, preferred
  • Knowledge of school-based speech-language services and CFY experience is a plus
  • Ability to work collaboratively with educational staff and families
  • Strong communication and organizational skills

Position Details:

  • Location: Independence, MO
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 3:50 PM, 35 hours per week
  • Student Grade Levels: 5th and 6th grades within a life skills program
  • Number of Openings: 1 full-time SLP
  • Interview: Conducted via Zoom
  • Immediate hiring decision available
