Speech-Language Pathologist School-Based (Itinerant)

Location: Joliet, IL
Position Type: Full-Time, Contract (CSY)
Assignment Duration: ASAP start through June 30, 2026
Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM 3:00 PM
Sites: Two elementary/middle school locations (itinerant role)

This opportunity is for a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide direct speech and language therapy within an elementary school setting. The position supports two sites, serving students from Kindergarten through 7th grade and ages 2 and up. The role requires traveling between sites to deliver quality, individualized intervention services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver evidence-based speech-language therapy to approximately 40 students using a caseload model
  • Conduct thorough assessments and speech evaluations to identify students needs
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs) aligned with student goals
  • Collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams through active participation in IEP meetings
  • Execute standard school-based SLP duties adhering to district policies and procedures

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Valid Illinois Speech-Language Pathologist License with Clinical Certificate of Competence (CCC) from ASHA
  • Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)
  • Completion of fingerprinting and background check prior to start
  • Strong communication and organizational skills suitable for an itinerant caseload
  • Experience working with pediatric and school-age populations preferred
