Job Description

This full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position supports a K-12 school located in Independence, MO, working specifically with 5th and 6th grade students enrolled in a life skills program. The role is under a contract serving a staff member going on leave with an uncertain return date. The SLP will collaborate with a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to deliver effective speech and language services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct speech-language therapy to students in the life skills program.
  • Collaborate with teachers, staff, and the assigned SLPA to support individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Maintain clear documentation and progress reporting.
  • Participate in paid team meetings and allotted administrative time.
  • Manage a caseload within one school, ensuring compliance with district and state guidelines.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Missouri SLP License.
  • Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred.
  • Experience in pediatric speech-language pathology, particularly in educational or healthcare settings.
  • Knowledge of itinerant service delivery with compensated travel time.
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday, 35 hours per week, from 8:00 AM to 3:50 PM.
