Make a positive impact on students lives as a full-time Speech Language Pathologist for the 2026-2027 academic year. Serve Pre K through 12th-grade learners on a manageable caseload, and collaborate with dedicated school professionals in an engaging, supportive environment. This contract position runs from August 2026 through May 2027.
Qualifications and Preferred Experience:
- Valid Speech Language Pathologist certificate from ALSDE
- Successful completion of an ALSDE background check before start date
- Previous experience working with Pre K12 students is highly valued
- Solid understanding of school-based IEP procedures and best practices
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to adapt evaluation and therapy approaches to meet diverse student needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of approximately 40 students, providing direct and consultative speech-language therapy services
- Conduct assessments to identify speech, language, and communication challenges
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans aligned with IEP goals
- Collaborate with special education staff, classroom teachers, and families
- Participate in IEP meetings and support teams through documentation and progress reporting
- Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment that promotes student growth and participation
