Job Description

In Elgin, IL, a contract position is available for a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist or Speech-Language Pathology Assistant, with a start date as soon as possible and extending through June. This role also offers the possibility of summer work and is focused on supporting students for the upcoming school year, catering to a diverse range of needs.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Illinois SLP or SLPA license
  • For SLPs: Professional Educator's License (PEL) through ISBE
  • CCC-SLP certification preferred
  • Experience in pediatric speech therapy, particularly in school settings
  • Familiarity with AAC devices and various communication methods
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills

Location: Elgin, IL

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments and develop individualized education plans (IEPs) for students
  • Collaborate with teachers and other specialists to provide tailored support
  • Manage caseloads, which may range from 2-4 classrooms, with up to 10 students per class
  • Deliver direct therapy services and monitor student progress
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive educational environment
  • Provide guidance to staff on speech and language development strategies
