Job Description

A part-time contract opportunity is available for a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) supporting students in grades PreK through 5th in Bishopville, SC. This position involves providing specialized speech and language services within an itinerant role, serving approximately 56 students across the local K-12 district. The assignment will commence on August 1, 2025, and conclude on May 29, 2026, with a standard workweek of 37.5 hours from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individual and group speech and language therapy services to students as outlined in their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Collaborate with educators, families, and support staff to develop and implement effective communication intervention plans.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with district protocols and state guidelines.
  • Utilize the districts IEP system for reporting and progress monitoring, with training provided.
  • Manage caseload effectively within the assigned workload model, ensuring quality interventions for all students.
  • Participate in paid administrative time and team meetings to coordinate services and support student progress.
  • Travel to different school sites within the district to provide services, with dedicated therapy space available for sessions.

Qualifications:

  • Valid South Carolina Speech-Language Pathologist license.
  • Teaching certification appropriate for South Carolina school settings.
  • Experience working with school-aged children, especially in an itinerant role.
  • Knowledge of special education laws and IEP development.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
