Job Description

An opportunity is available for a full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to work within a K-12 school setting near Naperville, Illinois. This contract position begins as soon as possible and extends through May 22, 2026, offering a 37.5-hour workweek with itinerant duties across multiple schools. The student population primarily includes children and young adults aged 5 to 22 diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and/or Intellectual Disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct speech-language therapy services tailored to diverse student needs
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations and assessments to inform individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Actively participate in IEP development meetings alongside multidisciplinary teams
  • Maintain thorough documentation of student progress and therapy outcomes
  • Collaborate closely with educational staff to support student communication goals
  • Manage caseload effectively, balancing direct therapy, assessments, and related responsibilities
  • Travel between assigned school locations as part of the itinerant role, with travel time compensated

Required Qualifications:

  • Current Illinois Speech-Language Pathology License (SLP)
  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)
  • Completion of fingerprinting and background check prior to starting
  • Experience working with pediatric populations, especially those with ASD and intellectual disabilities, is preferred
