Job Description

A Speech-Language Therapist is needed to provide specialized therapy services for an 8th-grade student at a middle school in Bridgeport, CT. This contract position runs through the end of the school year and offers an opportunity to support a student in meeting critical IEP goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver 42 minutes of direct speech and language therapy weekly, with additional compensatory hours to address missed services earlier in the year
  • Provide services at the designated school site as an itinerant therapist, including paid travel time
  • Complete indirect administrative tasks and participate in paid team meetings
  • Collaborate with school staff to ensure compliance with IEP requirements and documentation within the districts system
  • Maintain communication with district contacts and participate in virtual interviews and team discussions

Qualifications:

  • Valid Connecticut Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license
  • CCC-SLP (Certificate of Clinical Competence) preferred
  • Experience working with pediatric populations, especially in school settings
  • Familiarity with caseload management and therapy delivery in educational environments
  • Ability to provide clinical supervision when required
  • Strong organizational and communication skills to manage therapy schedules and reporting

Location: Bridgeport, CT (Middle School setting)

This role supports an individual student caseload with approximately 2 hours of weekly service, emphasizing quality over quantity. The position includes paid administrative time and allows for tele-interviewing to accommodate schedules.
