Job Description

A position is available for a qualified Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide specialized therapy services to an 8th grade student at a middle school located in Bridgeport, CT. This contract role runs from ASAP through the end of the school year, offering an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on a students communication development within a supportive educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver 42 minutes of weekly speech and language therapy services in alignment with the students Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals
  • Provide compensatory therapy hours initially to address unmet service needs from earlier in the school year
  • Utilize best practices in pediatric and school-based speech-language pathology to support student progress
  • Document therapy sessions and collaborate with school staff to track student outcomes
  • Participate in paid team meetings and complete indirect administrative tasks as part of the position

Qualifications:

  • Valid Connecticut SLP license required
  • Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology preferred
  • Experience working with pediatric and school-aged populations, including CFY (Clinical Fellowship Year) candidates considered
  • Ability to effectively engage and support students in both direct and indirect service models

Position Details:

  • Location: Middle school in Bridgeport, Connecticut
  • Caseload: 1 eighth-grade student
  • Hours: Approximately 2 hours per week with itinerant travel to the assigned site
  • Contract duration: Current school year (CSY) through end of year
