Job Description

An exciting opportunity exists for skilled professionals specializing in speech-language pathology within a K-12 educational setting. This role is designed for individuals dedicated to supporting students aged 8-22 who are deaf or hard of hearing, as well as those requiring intervention in early childhood through high school.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive speech-language assessments and develop tailored intervention plans for students.
  • Collaborate with educators, parents, and other specialists to implement effective communication strategies.
  • Deliver direct therapy services in individual and group settings, fostering a supportive learning environment.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of student progress and service delivery.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

Qualifications:

  • Valid Professional Educators License (PEL) for Illinois schools through ISBE.
  • CCC-SLP certification and experience with pediatric populations, preferably in school settings.
  • Strong understanding of speech and language development, particularly for students with hearing impairments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, staff, and families.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a diverse team.
