Job Description

An opportunity is available for a full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to support K-12 students in Independence, MO. This is a contract position covering a leave whose duration is currently unknown, offering the chance to make a meaningful impact in a life skills program serving 5th and 6th-grade students. The role includes working alongside a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to provide targeted support that helps students develop essential communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver speech-language therapy services to 5th and 6th-grade students in the life skills program
  • Collaborate with an SLPA to support and assist in therapy sessions
  • Manage caseload and document student progress in compliance with district and state guidelines
  • Participate in paid team meetings and utilize administrative time for indirect duties
  • Travel between assigned school locations within scheduled hours (paid travel time included)

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Missouri SLP License required
  • Experience working with pediatric populations in school or healthcare settings preferred
  • Familiarity with working in K-12 environments, particularly with students requiring life skills support
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Completion of Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) or equivalent

Position Details:

  • Location: Independence, MO
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 3:50 PM (35 hours/week)
  • Setting: One school, itinerant within the district, paid travel time included
  • Interview: Conducted via Zoom for convenience
  • Immediate hiring decision with ASAP start
