Job Description

A Speech Language Pathologist with Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) and School SLP credentials is needed for a full-time, contract position in a K-12 school setting in Bessemer, AL. This school-year role provides hands-on clinical experience working onsite with a diverse student caseload spanning kindergarten through 12th grade.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and communication disorders in students across all grade levels
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and educational staff to integrate speech therapy into academic goals
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and therapy outcomes
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and professional development activities

Qualifications:

  • Valid Alabama Speech Language Pathologist license required
  • Current Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA highly preferred
  • Experience working in school-based settings serving K-12 students
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with students, families, and school personnel
  • Ability to manage a full caseload independently and as part of a team
