Job Description

Step into a fulfilling contract opportunity supporting elementary and middle school students as a Speech-Language Pathologist near Baker, LA. Beginning August 3rd and running through May 21st, this full-time assignment places you at a single school site, working Monday through Friday from 7:45 AM to approximately 3:30 PM. You will focus on a manageable caseload, most likely across 3rd-4th or 5th-6th grades, helping students develop vital communication skills that set the foundation for academic and personal growth.

Ideal candidates will bring strong clinical expertise and a commitment to fostering student success in a collaborative educational environment. This position prioritizes professionals ready to engage fully without the need for supervision.

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

  • Valid Louisiana Speech-Language Pathologist license
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) required
  • Experience working in a school setting with elementary or middle school students preferred
  • Ability to independently manage a caseload of students with varying communication disorders
  • Excellent collaboration, communication, and documentation skills
  • SLPs completing their CFY cannot be considered

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive speech-language assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
  • Provide evidence-based therapy sessions tailored to student needs
  • Maintain detailed and timely documentation according to school and state requirements
  • Participate in IEP meetings, collaborating with teachers, staff, and families
  • Monitor progress and adjust interventions as needed for optimal outcomes
