A rewarding opportunity is available for a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide support for a leave of absence at an elementary school serving students in grades K-6. This contract position begins in January with the option for shadow days in December and is expected to continue until early March.
Located in Aurora, IL, this role offers the chance to make a positive impact on young learners by providing specialized speech and language services. The SLP will work closely with students to develop communication skills that enhance their academic achievement and social interaction.
Key Qualifications:
- Illinois SLP License and Professional Educator License (PEL) required
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred
- Experience working with pediatric populations and school-aged children
- Familiarity with school-based therapy services and individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with educators, parents, and students
Responsibilities include:
- Conducting assessments and evaluations of speech and language abilities
- Designing and implementing individualized therapy plans tailored to each students needs
- Maintaining accurate documentation and progress reports in compliance with school policies
- Collaborating with teachers and support staff to integrate speech goals into classroom activities
- Participating in team meetings and parent conferences as necessary
