As a Speech-Language Pathologist, youll make a meaningful difference working with school-aged children, providing assessments, creating individualized treatment plans, and collaborating with educators and families in a dynamic educational setting.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
- Valid license or eligibility for licensure as an SLP in Texas
- Experience working in a school environment preferred
- Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation skills
- Ability to adapt therapy techniques to diverse student populations and needs
- Collaborative spirit for consulting with teachers, staff, and parents
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct screenings, evaluations, and formal assessments for students with speech or language concerns
- Develop and implement individualized education plan (IEP) goals and interventions
- Provide therapy services individually or in groups to support students communication skills
- Maintain accurate and timely progress notes and required documentation
- Educate and support teachers and parents, sharing strategies to foster communication in and out of the classroom
- Stay current with best practices and participate in ongoing professional development
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute as an expert team member
- Adhere to ethical, legal, and policy guidelines
