Job Description

A skilled Sign Language Interpreter is sought to provide essential communication support in a dynamic educational environment. This position focuses on one-on-one interpretation for a high school student, fostering an inclusive learning atmosphere from now until June.

Qualifications:

  • EIPA certification with a minimum score of 4.0 in both written and performance assessments.
  • Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) with extensive experience interpreting in educational settings.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with students, teachers, and staff.
  • Ability to manage time efficiently and adapt to the varied needs of the student.

Location:

  • Westover, MD (In-person at a high school setting)

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one sign language interpretation for the assigned student.
  • Collaborate with educators to facilitate effective communication and enhance the student's learning experience.
  • Attend staff meetings and participate in professional development opportunities as required.
