This onsite role, located near Waverly, NE, is ideal for professionals passionate about facilitating communication and enhancing access to learning for Deaf and hard-of-hearing students. The position runs from August 12, 2026, through May 20, 2027, offering a consistent schedule that matches the school calendar.
Youll work with elementary-aged students in a collaborative, inclusive environment. Bring your expertise to the classroom and play a vital role in each childs educational journey. Flexible scheduling is possible, with both full-day (7:45am3:15pm) and afternoon-only (11:00am3:15pm) options available.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and familiarity with interpreting in educational settings.
- State license or willingness to work under a provisional license if EIPA score is below 4.0.
- Prior experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in schools preferred.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Genuine dedication to empowering Deaf and hard-of-hearing students.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately interpret classroom instruction, peer interactions, and school events to ensure equal access for students.
