Step into a fulfilling role working closely with one high school student as an American Sign Language Interpreter in an educational setting. This contract-to-hire opportunity offers a consistent, full-time schedule33.75 hours per week across five daysmaking a real impact in a supportive school environment near Tonkawa, OK.

Preferred candidates are credentialed professionals passionate about creating accessible and inclusive academic experiences. On a daily basis, you will interpret classroom instruction and help bridge communication between the student, peers, and educators, supporting academic success and full participation in school life.

Qualifications:

• Hold one or more of the following credentials/certifications:
  • Oklahoma Quality Assurance Screening Test (QAST)
  • Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID)
  • Training and Assessment Systems for K-12 Educational Interpreters (TASK 12)
• Experience or specialized training in educational interpreting, preferably at the high school level
• Strong command of American Sign Language and familiarity with Deaf culture
• Professionalism, reliability, and clear communication skills

Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one American Sign Language interpretation for a high school student throughout the school day
• Accurately convey spoken language to ASL and vice versa during lessons, group work, and school events
• Collaborate with educators and support staff to ensure the students access to curriculum and participation in all activities
• Maintain confidentiality, impartiality, and student-centered support
