Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide accurate and timely interpretation services for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, in both onsite and virtual formats.
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to develop appropriate strategies and resources to support student needs.
  • Maintain a professional code of conduct while interacting with students and their families, ensuring confidentiality.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute valuable insights regarding communication methods and tools.
  • Stay updated on best practices and developments in sign language interpretation and special education.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 4.0 EIPA score and successful completion of the Written test, or a current RID certification and Written test.
  • Previous experience working in a school setting with K-12 students is required.
  • Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) with a deep understanding of Deaf culture and community.
