The assignment is full-time onsite, beginning August 5th, 2026, and concluding June 4th, 2027.

Key Qualifications:

• Current and valid certification as a Sign Language Interpreter in South Carolina (SC SLI)
• Proven proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Previous experience interpreting in K-12 schools is strongly preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and other school professionals
• Committed to confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions
• Must be willing and able to work onsite throughout the contract duration

Role Responsibilities:

• Provide accurate and effective sign language interpretation between students, staff, and others as needed
• Facilitate classroom participation for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Support instructional activities by interpreting lectures, discussions, and other classroom communications
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, special educators, and school administrators to promote accessibility
• Adapt interpreting techniques to meet student needs across various educational settings
• Maintain records and documentation in accordance with school guidelines
• Participate in team meetings and ongoing professional development to enhance service delivery
