Job Description

A thrilling opportunity is available for skilled Sign Language Interpreters looking to make a meaningful impact in the educational sector. This position is set for the 2025-2026 school year and involves working full-time in a K-12 setting, providing essential support to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students.

Selah, WA

Responsibilities:

  • Interpret spoken language between students and staff, ensuring effective communication in educational settings.
  • Facilitate access to curriculum by supporting students during classroom instruction, meetings, and various activities.
  • Collaborate with teachers and IEP teams to tailor communication support to meet individual student needs.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all interpreting practices.
  • Manage a typical full-time caseload, demonstrating flexibility and responsiveness to changing classroom dynamics.

Qualifications:

  • Valid licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter, with one of the following:
    • EIPA Score of 4.0+ with a passing score on the written exam.
    • RID Certification with a passing score on the written EIPA exam.
  • Proven experience interpreting in educational settings, particularly with K-12 students.
  • Strong understanding of educational practices and IEP processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with staff, students, and families.
