Job Description

In a dynamic educational environment, professionals are sought to provide crucial communication support for D/deaf and Hard of Hearing (D/HH) students. This role focuses on fostering an inclusive classroom experience through effective sign language interpretation.

Qualifications:

  • Verifiable completion of an Interpreter Training Program
  • RID and/or EIPA assessment score of 4.0 or above
  • Valid Washington State Driver's License or evidence of mobility
  • Previous experience in school-based settings preferred

Location:

  • Seattle, WA

Responsibilities:

  • Perform sign-to-voice and voice-to-sign interpretation in classroom and educational settings
  • Facilitate communication between D/HH students, teachers, staff, and community members
  • Collaborate with educators to support instructional activities under their guidance
  • Ensure compliance with IDEA, ADA, and other legal requirements regarding communication access
