An opportunity is available for a Sign Language Interpreter to support K-12 students in a full-time, in-person role within the Santa Barbara, CA area. This contract position offers meaningful work within an educational setting, providing communication access to students who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate effective communication between students, teachers, and staff using American Sign Language (ASL) in classroom and school environments
• Interpret educational content and social interactions accurately and in real-time
• Collaborate with educators and support staff to promote inclusive learning experiences
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethical standards

Qualifications:

• Valid Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) certification in California is required
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with demonstrated interpreting skills in educational settings
• Experience working with K-12 students is preferred
• Strong communication, adaptability, and cultural sensitivity
