Qualifications & Credentials:

• Valid EIPA score of 3.5 or higher, as required in Georgia
• GAPSC certification (Georgia Professional Standards Commission)
• Proven experience as a sign language interpreter in school or educational environments
• Deep understanding of American Sign Language (ASL), Deaf culture, and educational interpreting practices
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with students, staff, and families
• Ability to adapt to varying classroom settings and student needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate clear communication between students and staff using ASL in classroom and school activities
• Interpret a range of content including lessons, discussions, and extracurricular events for K-12 students
• Partner with teachers to ensure that instructional materials and classroom participation are accessible
• Maintain a high standard of professionalism and confidentiality
• Monitor student progress and collaborate on adjustments to service delivery as needed
