Experience a fulfilling role supporting students as a Sign Language Interpreter in a friendly, inclusive educational environment for the 2026/2027 school year. This contract position is tailored for professionals passionate about making an impact with students who are Deaf/hard of hearing within a vibrant school community.
Youll be assigned to one local school, with potential options such as elementary, middle, or high school settings. Caseloads typically involve one or two students per classroom, allowing for a close working relationship and the chance to see long-term student growth throughout the academic year, all while being based full-time on campus.
Key Qualifications:
- RID Certification strongly preferred; EIPA score of 4.0 or higher is also highly desirable
- Previous experience interpreting in educational settings is an advantage
- Comfortable collaborating with teachers and staff to enhance access for students
- Ability to adapt interpreting style to suit various student age groups and communication needs
- Strong commitment to fostering inclusive, accessible classrooms for all learners
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide interpreting services to support communication between students, staff, and peers
- Ensure student participation in classroom activities, school functions, and extracurricular events
- Adapt to student-specific needs and provide feedback as appropriate
- Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to professional and ethical standards
