Job Description

This full-time contract position offers the opportunity to work onsite as a Sign Language Interpreter in a K-12 school setting in Reno, NV. The role involves providing 1:1 interpreting services for students, ensuring clear and effective communication within the educational environment throughout the school year (NSY).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality sign language interpreting services to support students educational needs.
  • Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and staff in classroom and school activities.
  • Maintain professionalism and adhere to educational and interpreting standards.
  • Collaborate with educators and support staff to enhance learning experiences for deaf and hard-of-hearing students.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid EIPA score certificate, EIPA Written Knowledge Test certificate, coaching report, or proof of passing a certification knowledge exam.
  • Alternatively, proof of completion of an interpreter training degree program is required.
  • Previous professional experience working as a sign language interpreter in a school setting.
  • Strong understanding of K-12 educational environments and student needs.
