Job Description

This full-time, onsite position in Reno, NV offers an exciting opportunity for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support K-12 students on a 1:1 caseload basis. The role is a contract position spanning the entire school year, perfect for professionals passionate about enhancing communication and educational access for Deaf and hard-of-hearing students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide effective sign language interpretation services for individual students in classroom and school-related settings.
  • Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and staff to ensure full participation in educational activities.
  • Maintain confidentiality and follow ethical standards related to interpreting in educational environments.
  • Collaborate with educators and support staff to create an inclusive learning atmosphere.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid EIPA score certificate, EIPA Written Knowledge Test certificate, coaching report, proof of passing a certification knowledge exam, or completion of an interpreter training degree program.
  • Demonstrated professional experience in school interpreting environments.
  • Commitment to clear, accurate, and culturally appropriate interpretation.
  • Ability to work full-time onsite during school hours.
