Qualifications:

• Proficient in English and sign language, with a strong grasp of both languages.
• Excellent communication skills to convey information clearly and effectively.
• Ability to interpret conversational speech as well as technical language and abstract concepts.
• Successful completion of the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) with a score of at least 3.5 out of 5.
• Previous experience working with children, particularly in an educational setting, is preferred.

Location:

Responsibilities:

• Interpret classroom instruction, announcements, and student conversations to support learning.
• Collaborate with educators to help students comprehend technical language and abstract concepts.
• Assist in facilitating parent meetings and other important interactions between students and families.
• Maintain flexibility as an itinerant interpreter, traveling between various sites as needed.
