Job Description

A K-12 school in Punta Gorda, FL is seeking a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support an elementary student. This onsite contract position offers 37.5 hours per week over five days, providing consistent and meaningful support throughout the school year.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Sign Language Interpreter certification
  • Minimum 3.5 EIPA score
  • Experience working in K-12 educational settings preferred
  • Ability to effectively interpret and communicate in a classroom environment

Responsibilities:

  • Provide accurate and effective sign language interpreting services for one elementary student
  • Facilitate communication between the student, teachers, and peers
  • Support the students educational access by adapting to classroom dynamics and instructional needs
  • Collaborate with school staff to ensure an inclusive learning environment
