Qualifications and Certifications:

  • Hold active Oklahoma Quality Assurance Screening Test (QAST) credentials
  • Certified by the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID)
  • TASK 12 (Training and Assessment Systems for K-12 Educational Interpreters) completion
  • Proven experience providing sign language interpreting services, preferably in educational settings
  • Skilled in fostering positive, professional relationships with students and staff

Position Details:

  • Full-time schedule: 33.75 hours, Monday through Friday
  • Focused caseload: interpretation services for one high school student each day
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to adapt communication and ensure classroom accessibility
  • Facilitate understanding of classroom content, extracurricular activities, and school communications

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver accurate and ethical sign language interpretation for academic lessons and interactions
  • Support student participation and engagement in all school activities
  • Serve as a resource to teachers, staff, and peers regarding effective communication strategies
