This contract position requires your presence onsite at least four days each week, supporting students in specialized programs designed for those with little, limited, or no verbal communication. Desired qualifications and experience:

• Proficiency as a Sign Language Interpreter (SLI), with the skill to facilitate communication in educational settings
• Previous experience in schools or with children (0-3, 4-6, or 7+ years)
• Knowledge and sensitivity to the needs of students in the SAILS and STEPs programs
• Ability to participate in student evaluations as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Flexibility to work on-site or in a hybrid setting, with a minimum in-person commitment of four days per week
• Comfort adapting your interpreting style to support both hearing-impaired students and non-verbal communicators
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills

Key responsibilities:

• Provide real-time sign language interpretation during classes, evaluations, and other school activities
• Facilitate clear communication between students, teachers, and staff
• Adapt interpreting techniques for individual student needs within specialized programs
• Support educators in understanding and implementing best practices for accessible communication
• Attend team meetings and contribute to student progress discussions
