A full-time Sign Language Interpreter is needed to provide 1:1 interpreting services at a high school, with a contract duration through the current school year. This onsite position is based in Mount Airy, NC, and offers the opportunity to support students in an educational environment while facilitating effective communication.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver one-on-one American Sign Language (ASL) interpreting services for high school students.
• Facilitate clear and accurate communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students, teachers, and peers.
• Support academic instruction and extracurricular activities by ensuring accessibility.
• Collaborate with school staff to address communication needs and promote inclusive learning.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism within the school setting.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language with demonstrated interpreting skills.
• Experience interpreting in educational settings, particularly high schools, is preferred.
• Ability to adapt to diverse communication needs and learning environments.
• Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism.
• Availability to work onsite full time from ASAP through May 26, 2025.
