A dynamic opportunity awaits for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support students in a K-12 educational environment. This full-time position is based in Metairie, LA, and focuses on facilitating effective communication for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Qualifications:

• Active Louisiana Department of Education Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter
• Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Experience interpreting in educational settings, particularly with K-12 students
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with educators, staff, and students

Responsibilities:

• Provide interpretation and translation services for students requiring ASL support
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to facilitate inclusive learning experiences
• Prepare for and attend meetings, IEPs, and professional development as required
• Maintain accurate records of services provided and student progress
• Advocate for the needs of students who are deaf or hard of hearing within the school community
