Job Description

Make a meaningful impact in the lives of elementary students by providing dedicated, in-person sign language interpreting services for the upcoming academic year. This contract opportunity focuses on supporting a single elementary-aged student, ensuring access and inclusion in their educational environment.

What You'll Bring:

  • Current certification as a Sign Language Interpreter
  • Minimum EIPA score of 4.0
  • Prior experience working with children or in K-12 school settings is highly valued
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work exclusively onsite throughout the assignment period

Your Day-to-Day:

  • Deliver 1:1 sign language interpretation in classroom and school settings, facilitating clear communication between student, staff, and peers
  • Adapt interpreting strategies to meet the developmental and educational needs of the elementary-age learner
  • Collaborate with teachers and special education teams to promote an inclusive, supportive learning environment
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions
  • Provide feedback and insights to educational staff regarding student progress and communication needs

Assignment Details:

  • Contract position spanning the school year from August to May
  • Full-time hours (37.5 per week) following the academic calendar
  • Onsite role only, ensuring direct engagement with your assigned student and school community
