An opportunity exists for skilled professionals specializing in American Sign Language interpretation within an educational setting. This role focuses on providing vital communication support to K-12 students, fostering an inclusive learning environment. The position is part-time, requiring 5-6 hours of interpretation per day, and spans the school year from August 26th to June 11th of the following year.

Qualifications:

• Valid EIPA certification with a score of 4.0 or higher and a passing score on the written exam.
• RID Certification with a suitable written EIPA Score.
• Proven experience interpreting in educational settings, particularly with K-12 students.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, staff, and families.

Location:

• Kennewick, WA

Responsibilities:

• Provide sign language interpretation for K-12 students across various subjects.
• Collaborate with educators to support students communication needs.
• Facilitate accessibility and enhance the learning experience for deaf or hard-of-hearing students.
• Attend staff meetings and participate in professional development opportunities as available.
