Seeking proficient Sign Language Interpreters to support educational settings in Columbia, SC, for the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time, contract position offers the opportunity to work directly with students and educators to facilitate effective communication and learning.
Key Qualifications:
- Must possess a minimum score of 3.5 on the EIPA written portion.
- Strong expertise in American Sign Language interpretation within school environments.
- Previous experience in educational settings preferred.
- Ability to handle a varied caseload with adaptability and professionalism.
Position Details:
- Location: Columbia, SC (primarily onsite; virtual options may be considered near the start of the school year).
- Contract Dates: August 6, 2026 May 26, 2027.
- Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week.
- Number of Openings: 13 interpreters needed.
- Caseload specifics to be provided closer to assignment start.
Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate and effective sign language interpretation during classroom instruction and school-related activities.
- Collaborate with educators and support staff to ensure clear communication access for students.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all interpreting assignments.
- Prepare and possibly participate in educational plans tailored to student needs.
