A full-time Sign Language Interpreter position is available for the current school year at a K-12 educational setting in Huntsville, AL. This onsite role offers the opportunity to support students requiring sign language services throughout their instructional day, ensuring effective communication and inclusion in the classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate clear and accurate communication between students, educators, and staff by interpreting sign language during instructional activities and school events.
• Support students academic and social development by providing access to spoken information through sign language interpretation.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to accommodate students' linguistic needs.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards and guidelines for interpreters in educational settings.
• Participate in professional development opportunities and receive guidance from a Clinical Advisory Team.

Qualifications:

• Valid Alabama Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) License is required.
• Experience working in K-12 educational environments preferred.
• Strong proficiency in American Sign Language with the ability to interpret complex educational terminology.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with children and school personnel.
